31 March Sea Day Number Six Hard to Top Yesterday

A very calm sea last night. At one point I thought we had stopped. We’ve traveled 1,000 of 4,000 nautical miles since leaving Montevideo.

Church, Gym and Trivia, the morning trifecta. Ladies won. What was the Bob Dylan Grammy album of the year in 2012? A British commercial production of some interesting untold story vignettes about the D-Day landing. Later a lecture on commercial fishing for tuna and shrimp.

The afternoon was marred by constant hammering noise from the deck above. Contractors repairing the outside decking material started about noon and it was still going on until 1500. As a result, we now have a second room on Deck 3 as a retreat. Repairs are expected over the next three days. We also found out we are retaining our Nordic Suite until reaching New York. After that it’s down to Deck Two.

The World Café was nearly empty. Not sure what we missed but there was one other couple in our section. Karla made a sandwich out of the bar-b-que brisket with cole slaw. Not quite Jack Stack’s from Kansas City, but not too far off.

After dinner we went down to the Hide and listened to one of the Expedition Leaders tell stories. Not all that interesting so at the first opportunity we left for the Explorer’s Lounge, a glass of Port and listened to the duet singing.
