29 April, Ontario, Canada Mostly Sea Day 21 Seaway Day 3 Arriving 1700

Viking is certainly doing its best to overcome weather and scheduling obstacles. Today is a typical sea day, gym, trivia and lectures. We passed on the latter and the All Missouri Team finished third in trivia. What is the tallest building in the world?

We met with Mark and finalized our excursions for the rest of our trip. He is also getting off in Milwaukee and counting the days. An afternoon announcement invited all guests to board busses between 1830 and 1715 to go and see Cirque du Soleil.

Cirque du Soleil does several different shows. This one was called KURIOS. The theme was a inventor who creates things that defy laws of time, space, and dimension in order to reinvent everything around him with steampunk elements. If you have seen other Cirque shows you know the theme doesn’t always tie the various circus acts tightly together. The acts are amazing and out seats were excellent.

After we had a rather tedious bus ride back to the ship. Heavy road construction made for a one-way bridge in the port area. None of the on-coming traffic would stop and let our bus through. Our Viking Expedition Guide dismounted and held traffic so we could pass. Maybe courteous Canadians lose it behind the wheel. It was really hard on the passengers disembarking early the next morning.

Upon return we had a letter from the Captain apologizing for the shortfalls of this leg. They will not allow us to carry our current on-board-credit over and apply to a future trip or get a refund. Unheard of in our Viking experience. We will talk to the on-board travel consultant to see exactly how to work this out.
