Today we were supposed to be tendering into Cap-Aux-Meules, Iles De La Madeleine. High winds, high waves eliminated that option, so we got a sea day and a quickly revised schedule of events. We had opted for just the highlights tour hoping to get a chance to walk around and see this small town.
Angry Seas. Note the splash from the bow of this ship sailing beside us.

Karla and I attempted to us up some of our shipboard credit at the Nordic Shop. It’s small on Viking’s Ocean ships. It’s absolutely miniscule on Octantis. They have one two-foot wide six-foot-high shelf with some OTC medicines, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and huge bags of M&Ms. No make-up, no feminine hygiene products, no razors or shaving cream. Karla did find a t-shirt, a Helly Hansen Helly one at $45. It’s a really nice shirt and we have shipboard credit to burn. They plan to restock in Toronto, so we’ll have to see what else to buy after that.
