20 April Sea Day Eighteen Missouri Show Me The Answers

Gym, Trivia, Veterans’ Get Together and Magic Show. We expanded our Trivia Team today with a couple from Columbia, MO added to the couple from St Louis and us from KC. In the It’s-A-Small-World category, Denny from Columbia was once married to one of Karla’s and my high school classmates. Didn’t help much we were two answers behind the winner, one guy playing by alone. Who sang You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch and was the original voice of Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes’ Tony the Tiger?

Internet speed and even access has been extremely limited when the ship is at full capacity. I don’t know if that is because people are streaming video, which is forbidden, but not policed in any way, or it is the need for Viking to coordinate excursions (I’d expect that they would have priority) or it is just a bandwidth limit. Hard to say.

Many Veterans today including a former tanker pilot stationed at Plattsburg after our friends were there. Several women vets with a mix of Navy and Air National Guard experience.

I did finish Kathy Walman’s book, GOSSIP BOATS, on what was supposed to be our last sea day. It is now placed in the ship’s library, on the port side, aft, in the Explorer’s Lounge. There are many bookshelves with books on travel, fiction, coffee table books with pictures and maps. Kathy’s work has a possibility of sailing for many years on board and to perhaps be discovered by a retired Irish priest and his slight of stature friend. Who knows?

We had a first for Octantis—A Guest Performer, Ben Price, Magician. More like a mentalist than a slight of hand guy. Although planned, even before the New York delay, it was a fortunate decision, given the delay out of New York. Mr. Price was entertaining, and it was a nice change in the routine.
